Leadership

My journey as a student was not that of a traditional university student, but it also is not uncommon.   It has taken me many years to finally say I am graduating this semester, Spring 2024.   During my years as a student, I was also a full-time career professional.   Though in times this led to me juggling time with staying up for late nights and getting up for early mornings, knowing that I was on a path to reach my goal kept me going.

My career has also given me opportunities to give back to the community.  I have been fortunate to volunteer for Junior Achievement of Birmingham and also Barber Motorsports.   For the past few years, I have volunteered at Barber Motorsports during their Indy race weekend to help raise money for Children's Hospital of Alabama.  These opportunities have provided me with different settings to meet other volunteers and visitors from all over the world attending the races.     Being able to utilize my communication skills that I have learned in my classes helped me connect with the different cultures in attendance.
